Problems With Plantation Shutters and How to Resolve Them

Here are some problems your plantations shutters might face and what you can do to fix them.

Plantations shutters can be a great investment, adding more aesthetic appeal and value to your home. But all of that appeal and value goes down the drain if something happens to them. So can you just ignore damage to your shutters when you see it? Not at all. Usually, any damage to plantation shutters is repairable. It’s not uncommon for the solution to be simple and easy. Here are some problems your plantations shutters might face and what you can do to fix them.

Your Plantations Shutters Could Have a Broken Louver

When your louvers break, it’s one of the least attractive sights your plantation shutters can have. Not only that, but you won’t be able to let in as much natural light when they break. It’s an annoying problem, but it can be handled.

For this kind of problem, we recommend calling a professional to handle the situation. They will be able to have new louvers manufactured and installed for you. You won’t need to have the whole shutter removed, making the process much easier.

Your Plantations Shutters Could Have Broken Magnets

Magnets will be installed in your shutter frame. This is done so that the shutter stays in place whenever it’s closed. The magnets are found in a casing made out of plastic, and eventually, the UV rays of the sun can break down this plastic casing. Fortunately, you can fix this problem.

You’ll likely have to get new magnets from a trusted manufacturer. After that, however, you can either install them on your own or have professional help with the installation. All that needs to be done is to have the broken magnets unscrewed and have the new ones screwed in their place.

Broken Frame or Shutter Panel

If your shutter panel or frame gets broken, you’re going to be better off contacting a professional. This is not a job we recommend to someone who doesn’t have experience in this line of work. Trying to handle a repair on your own can be risky. There’s a higher chance of causing further damage if you don’t know what procedures to follow to get the job done safely, which would cost you additional money to fix. Spend the money upfront to get a professional-level repair done because it’s a safer and more reliable option.
