What Not to Do With Luxury Vinyl Tile

Don't Do the Following With Your Luxury Vinyl Tile

Here are the things you shouldn’t do with your luxury vinyl tile.

Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) can be a great flooring option for many rooms of your house. Because of its versatility, it becomes an attractive option for many people. Now, while LVT is incredibly sturdy and resilient, while also demanding little maintenance, there are still things people can do to compromise their floors. Here are the things you shouldn’t do with your luxury vinyl tile.

Drag Furniture Across Your Luxury Vinyl Tile

When you drag heavy objects against your luxury vinyl tile, it can scratch and become damaged. Sometimes, you may even cause dents. For this reason, you should always try lifting heavy objects off of the ground before moving them. If you can’t lift items yourself, wood and hardboard runways can be used to help keep your floor protected.

Leave Blinds and Shades Open On Bright Sunny Days

Enough sun exposure can do some serious damage to your luxury vinyl tile. It will cause your floor to start fading and become discolored. Always keep your blinds and shades shut when it gets incredibly bright and sunny outside so that you can preserve your floor for as long as possible.

Avoid Giving Your Luxury Vinyl Tile Regular Maintenance

Just because luxury vinyl tile can be low-maintenance, that doesn’t mean you can skimp out on the maintenance that has to be done. You don’t want your floor to be left with unsightly stains, so it’s important to wash and vacuum it regularly to deal with all of the dirt, debris and spills that will impact your floor.

Use Floor Wax

We don’t recommend using floor wax on your luxury vinyl tile because your floor can end up becoming slippery. The tiles might also become more dull. If you want, you could use a liquid acrylic finish on areas of your house that get more foot traffic because it can give your floor extra protection, more shine, and added longevity.
