Maintaining Plantations Shutters

How to Maintain Your Plantation Shutters

Here are some tips you can use to take better care of your plantations shutters.

Plantations shutters can give your home an amazing new look and can instantly improve anyone’s outdoor landscape. That said, bad plantations hustlers can have the opposite effect, making your home look ugly and uninviting. For this reason, you need to know how to care for your plantations shutters.  Here are some tips you can use to take better care of your plantations shutters.

Clean Your Plantations Shutters With the Right Cleaning Products

Plantation shutters are made from all sorts of materials, ranging from aluminum to wood to vinyl. But no matter what material you use for your shutters, dusting is always a great idea to keep them clean. Just be careful when working with sensitive materials.

As an example, wood is susceptible to warping if it gets wet. For those, you want to use a duster or a cloth that has been given a light application of furniture polish. Aluminum and vinyl can be cleaned by using water and mild detergents.

Wipe Dust From Your Plantations Shutters Regularly

Closing your plantation shutters helps to minimize the amount of dust that accumulates on them. That said, dust will eventually start to pile up. The best way to dust your shutters is to go from top to bottom. If you start from the bottom of your shutters, dust that you sweep from the top could fall onto the bottom slats. You could either use a brush, or you could use a vacuum.

Keep Your Plantations Shutters Bright By Using a Damp Cloth

Wipe down your shutters with a damp cloth one time per week. This keeps dirt from building up over time. If the dust is stubborn, a paintbrush or a toothbrush can do the trick. If you clean them with a damp cloth, you won’t have to do deep cleanings as often.
