Keeping Luxury Vinyl Tile From Fading

Keep Your Luxury Vinyl Tile From Fading Using These Tips

Here is what you’re able to do to slow the fading process of your luxury vinyl tile.

Luxury vinyl tile is known for its versatility, stylish looks, and comfortable feel, among other things. The main downside to using this type of flooring is that it will start to fade as time goes on. The best way to deal with fading is to stop the fading from happening in the first place. Here is what you’re able to do to slow the fading process of your luxury vinyl tile.

Use the Right Window Coverings to Protect Your Luxury Vinyl Tile

Sunlight is among the most likely reasons for flooring to fade. If you install blinds or blackout drapes, you can minimize the amount of sunlight that gets to your floor.

Sometimes, however, these aren’t ideal solutions because you want your room(s) to be filled with natural light. In this case, window films and tints are the way to go. They help keep the harmful UV rays away from your floor while still allowing sunlight to get through. These tints can also help your building become more insulated.

Move Your Furniture to Expose Your Luxury Vinyl Tile to Light More Evenly

Most luxury vinyl tile options are going to fade as time goes on. However, this isn’t often the biggest issue with fading. The big issue is that the floor tends to fade unevenly and make your floor look unappealing.

As long as furniture isn’t shielding your luxury vinyl tile, your floor will eventually fade. But, if you move furniture around every now and then, the different areas of your room can get more similar exposure to sunlight. This will help your room fade more evenly, while simultaneously giving your room a refreshing new look.

Have Additional Tiles Ready

An added benefit to luxury vinyl tile is that you can get pieces replaced easily. Because of this, you can purchase extra tiles for whenever you need to replace tiles that have gotten worn down and faded. If this is the decision you make, you’ll want to buy the extra tiles early because there’s a chance that the vinyl you use won’t be produced later.
