Carpeting Myths Debunked

Carpeting Myths Debunked

We’ll be debunking common myths that people have made about carpeting.

There are many varieties of carpeting out there, and with so many types available, myths will eventually spread about them. It’s important to decipher whether a statement about a carpet is true or not before you invest in it. That’s why we’ll be debunking common myths that people have made about carpeting.

“Carpeting is Expensive, and Flooring is a Cheaper Alternative”

The truth is that carpeting is often one of the cheaper options available. It doesn’t cost as much to install a carpet as it would cost to install a hardwood floor. What’s more, is that carpets last for many years if you take proper care of them. Hardwood floors, while having the ability to be cheap, may not last as long, depending on the material you choose.

“Carpets Come With Heavy Maintenance”

Many people think that carpets will sign you up for years of heavy-duty maintenance. They claim it can be too much effort to keep it clean and free of damage. But carpeting doesn’t take much effort to maintain at all. Vacuuming is the main component of maintenance, which doesn’t take long to finish. Besides that, all you may need to do is steam clean it annually. There’s no sweeping, polishing, or waxing needed, unlike hardwood floors.

“Carpeting is Bad for the Environment”

Carpets don’t have to be made from materials that are bad for the planet. Many are made from environmentally-friendly materials, so you don’t have to worry about damaging the planet when you install a carpet.

Also, because of carpeting’s insulating properties, you can save energy on heating as we get closer to winter. The ability to save energy is not only good for the environment, but it also helps you save money long-term.
