Choosing The Color of Your Carpeting

Choosing The Color of Your Carpeting

If you’re struggling to pick out a color for your carpeting, here are some suggestions to help you out.

Carpets work in many households. They come in a wide array of styles, and you can even pick the color so that it complements your room. If you’re struggling to pick out a color for your carpeting, here are some suggestions to help you out.

Use Carpeting That Matches Your Room

Before committing to a color for your carpet, you need to consider the color of everything else in your room. The color of your carpeting should go well with the colors of your furniture, ceiling, and walls. You should also think about which room is having the carpeting installed.

For living rooms, you might want to choose the color of your sofa first, whereas, in your bedroom, you’ll first want to pick a floor color. Ideally, you’ll want to select the color for the largest piece of furniture you have before anything else. This is because, if you end up wanting to change colors later, it’s easier to switch the colors of your smaller items.

Neutral-Colored Carpeting is a Safe Option

Neutral colors are incredibly popular for carpeting. They give a timeless appearance and work well with practically any color. If you go with a bolder design, you might want to change it every few years as trends start to change. If you want to avoid being considered dull or boring, you can get carpeting with textures and patterns on them.

Your Carpeting Should Complement Your Lifestyle

One of the most important considerations you can make before committing to carpeting is your lifestyle. For anyone who has young children, you’ll likely have to deal with stains, meaning white carpeting is not recommended. You could go with dark carpeting if you want to hide stains, but it does show lint. For this reason, designers often recommend middle shade carpets as a healthy compromise.

Specks of Color

If you don’t want your entire carpet to be a certain color, you can use berber flecks. Berber flecks are the perfect option for people who want to add color to their carpets without fully committing to a specific color. Berber flecks are found on carpets with neutral tones, and they help the carpet stand out more because of the specks of color they offer. Since they help to hide stains, berber flecks are appreciated by parents.
