Options For Repairing and Fixing Up Your Luxury Vinyl Tile

Here are ways that you can repair and fix up your luxury vinyl tile.

Luxury vinyl tile is a wonderful flooring selection due to how long it’s able to last and what it can withstand. But if you’re going to get the most out of your tile, you have to understand how to fix it and keep it well maintained. If you do, you’ll get the maximum value for your flooring. Here are ways that you can repair and fix up your luxury vinyl tile.

Avoid Waxing Luxury Vinyl Tile

Some people wonder if it’s best to wax luxury vinyl tile. While it may appear like a good idea initially, you actually don’t ever want to do this. This is because of what material makes up floor wax. Floor wax is made out of carnauba wax, and this material will require you to buff it regularly using specialized tools.

Don’t Apply Finishes to Your Luxury Vinyl Tile

It’s a rare day when luxury vinyl tile will require an acrylic finish. Manufacturers will usually only suggest applying one if the floor in question will be exposed to an extremely high volume of foot traffic. This level of foot traffic will only normally be seen in commercial buildings. We can’t put enough emphasis on this statement when we say you should consult a flooring expert before getting a finish applied. A professional will know whether or not it’s the right choice for your floor. Sometimes, they may even suggest an entirely different flooring product for your situation. Getting a professional opinion is simply a safer option.

How Do You Handle Scratches?

A common question people have regarding luxury vinyl tile is how they should address scratches when they pop up. Scratches are bound to occur when your floor gets enough use, but you can remedy the problem with a little sweeping and dry mopping. Vacuuming can be a great help as well because it helps remove debris that may have been lingering on your floor.
