Introducing Our Newest Manufacturer: Godfrey Hirst Carpet

We at Mike’s Flooring & Design Center are thrilled to welcome our newest manufacturer: Godfrey Hirst Carpet.

We at Mike’s Flooring & Design Center are thrilled to welcome our newest manufacturer: Godfrey Hirst Carpet. They work hard to provide people with wonderful carpets for both residential and commercial settings. The number of carpet options they have is enormous, and there are many colors from which to choose. With as wide a selection as they offer, you’ll be sure to find a carpet that goes well with any room in your home or business.

About Their Carpet Fibers

You can get your carpet made from either natural wool or from a wool blend. Natural wool provides people with a soft and comfortable feel, and it minimizes noise. Wool also has fire-retardant properties, making it a safer pick for people concerned about fire hazards in their building. You can even stay more comfortable with wool because it acts as a natural insulator.

If you don’t want a natural fiber carpet, Godfrey Hirst Carpet also offers wool blend options. These carpets are made from a mix of wool and synthetic fibers, usually with an 80% to 20% ratio that has wool as the primary material. There are many varieties of fibers that can be mixed with wool, which results in a variety of carpets with many different attributes. These carpets are suitable for people who want the look and feel of a wool carpet at a lower expense.

Their Carpets Help the Environment

Since the carpets at Godfrey Hirst Carpet are made from wool, which is a reusable fiber, carpets from their company are beneficial to the environment. The wool is made out of amino acids, and once the wool has lived its life, it gets returned to the earth to provide nutrients to the grass. If wool gets placed into soil instead, the fiber will create plant nutrients like water, sulfur, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide. For these reasons, you can feel environmentally-secure when you purchase wool carpets made by Godfrey Hirst Carpet.

Since Mike purchased the business in 1996, he and his team have helped families like yours throughout Delmarva, Sussex County, DE, and Ocean City, MD. Mike continues to be involved in the day-to-day operations, ensuring the vision you share is the one we help deliver.

Over the years, we have established relationships with local manufacturers, such as Adura, COREtec, and Bruce, who we trust to deliver superior work. Our team will continue to be your point of contact through the entire process to be sure you are completely satisfied.

With the state of the country as it is, and taking into consideration the safety of our fellow citizens, our showroom is “BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.”  We also provide “SHOP AT HOME” service.  We will bring samples directly to your home, or should you already know what products you want, we can safely provide you with a “FREE ESTIMATE.”   This allows you the flexibility of not having to be at home for us to do an estimate, nor the installation.  All we will need to know is what areas in your home we would be doing and how we can gain access (hidden key, lock box, coded entry, realtor, neighbor, etc.).  This is tailored around the homeowner who needs to get their unit ready for the season or simply enhancing their home but does not want to leave their home or can’t make it to town (Ocean City, Berlin, Salisbury, Worcester / Wicomico County Maryland & Sussex County Delaware).

This service is not new to us.  We have already been providing this service for our customers for the past 24 years.  With the current situation at hand, we can continue to provide you with your Floor Covering and/or Window Treatment & Design needs along with the “AWESOME SERVICE YOU DESERVE, ALONG WITH PROFESSIONAL, QUALITY INSTALLATIONS.”
