6 Myths People Hear About Blinds

6 Myths People Hear About Blinds

Here are six common myths regarding blinds.

Window treatments are integral to the overall look of a room. Without them, the room will look incomplete. Some people are hesitant to commit to window blinds for their windows because of the many myths surrounding them. Here are six common myths regarding blinds.

Blinds Are Hard To Clean

Most blinds are fairly easy to clean, depending on the material they are made from. You simply have to wipe them down with a sponge or cloth. As long as you don’t let them go for too long and let the dust build up, maintaining your blinds should not be terribly difficult.

Blinds Are Fragile

Many people still believe that blinds break easily, even though that simply isn’t true. Like anything else, it depends on the material they’re made from.

They Spoil The View

Blinds don’t spoil a view any more or less than any other window treatment. You just have to choose the right blinds for your window and the design of the room.

Blinds Are Unsafe For Kids

The hanging cords on some blinds do make them hazardous for children and some pets. However, there are plenty of blinds available without cords, and some are even completely motorized. If you do have blinds with cords, you can make them safer by keeping the cords up and out of reach of children and pets.

They’re Options Are Limited

There are several choices and options of blinds available for just about any size window. You can even have them custom cut or custom made for unusually sized windows if you need to.

They Have To Be Expensive

The final myth about blinds is that you will only get good quality if you spend a lot of money. This isn’t true. Regardless of your aesthetic or window design, you are sure to find blinds that meet your needs without breaking the bank.
