Mike is the owner and operator of Mike’s Flooring & Design Center. Mike bought Carpet Connection in 1996 as a single father supporting two daughters. Mike changed the name to Mike’s Carpet Connection and involved his daughters in the business from the beginning. In January of 2020, with his business changing and flourishing in not only the carpet area but also other flooring options including luxury vinyl plank and window treatments, Mike changed the name to Mike’s Flooring & Design Center. Mike spent many years as a Customer Service Technician Specialist with Xerox Corporation on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Mike’s goal is to provide fair, ethical treatment to his customers, both in sales and in service. Mike believes the right product is always a balance between quality and price. Mike began with the “golden rule” we learned in kindergarten or Sunday school and expanded it as a business principle. Mike’s philosophy revolves around great customer service. Mike’s Flooring & Design Center is a family owned and operated business.

Steve has been a loyal floor covering Account Executive with Mike’s Flooring & Design Center for 19 years. Steve has been in the floor covering industry for 32 years and is originally from South Jersey. He started working for Color Tile and managed two stores and then started his own ceramic tile installation business. He came to work for Mike in 1999 and has been with Mike’s Flooring & Design Center ever since. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of floor coverings (carpet, ceramic tile, vinyl composition tile, luxury vinyl tile or LVT, hardwood and laminate).

Steve has been in the flooring world since October of 1996. He has held many titles in this time and knows the business top to bottom.  He enjoys working with people to help find solutions for their flooring needs by using the knowledge he has gained over the years and continued studies of the everchanging flooring industry. Steve is originally from New Castle but made the beach his home in 2006.  Steve has four amazing children and enjoys spending his time off with them.

Jody Weaver recently relocated from Baltimore, Maryland to Selbyville, Delaware and is our Office Manager. Jody has over 40 years experience in the Financial Services and Human Resource Industry. Jody also established her own Company for three years offering Accounting and H/R services in supporting small businesses. As our Office Manager, Jody provides financial support services to our employees, vendors and suppliers. She also maintains the proper licenses and insurance in the States of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia for our company and installers. All-inclusive, she provides financial stability for the company and for the quality services performed for our customers.

Jodi came to Mike's with 30 years' experience in flooring at the beach. She came here for the summer in 1989 and has called this home ever since. Jodi has been involved with the kid's ministry in her church for the past 15 years. She also enjoys her time with her 3 grandchildren and family, who also live at the beach. Jodi enjoys working with customers to design their space just as they want. She is also experienced in measuring and estimating for LVP, carpet, hardwood, ceramic/porcelain tile and countertops. Sarah came to us as a kitchen designer. She uses a program called 2020 to bring your kitchen to life virtually so you can see it before you commit to purchasing it. Since joining our team she has become educated in floor coverings and window treatments as well. She has been working in different occupations since she was fourteen. They range from plumbing, to waitressing, to being an assistant manager at a dog daycare. In her 20's she lived in Oregon, South Carolina, and North Carolina before settling here in Delaware. In 2022 she became a single mother when she had her daughter Reagan. In her free time she enjoys spending time with Reagan and taking her to experience new things. She also enjoys watching/playing sports and taking photos. Her goal when taking on projects is to make it an enjoyable process for you, and not a stressful one.

Jessica has been in the flooring industry for over seven years. She is very knowledgeable in all areas of floor coverings, countertops, and Porcelain / Ceramic Tile applications. Jessica has also been on the ordering and accounting side as well, providing her with additional knowledge to ensure the projects she handles goes as smooth as possible, with her client’s budget in mind, creating an environment where her clients can feel at ease, and give them the “peace of mind” they deserve from start to finish. Jessica was born and raised in Bethany and has lived locally ever since. Jessica is a devoted single mother to two daughters, Ava and Aubree. In her spare time, you can find her at the softball field or the beach making memories with her loved ones. Colleen Lutts grew up in Lutherville, MD and moved to Lewes, DE in April of 2021. She has been working in the design industry since 1996. Throughout her career she has traveled the mid-Atlantic region of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. She has a comprehensive back ground in many areas of design. Through her experiences she has developed a great knowledge base in both residential and commercial applications. She was a colorist for Benjamin Moore and a model home designer for Marriott. She spent a year on a large custom commercial project with Sunrise Senior Living. Colleen, most recently, has been successfully designing and constructing custom window treatments for a variety of applications. Working closely with clients to design spaces that are comfortable and that reflect their personalities is Colleen's personal goal and what she loves to do.
